There’s a door that leads into the darkness, to a place down in the basement of life where things that prefer the darkness live. Down there are people that are listening to and entangled with some sick ideas. They’re ideas that suggest establishing domination and control of all the life in the world. Those listening to them don’t want to be exposed because the light of our awareness means they have to answer to us for what it is they’re up to.

I think a road home, a road that leads to a beautiful life, leads us first into and then through that dark basement. We can disrupt the activity going on there by showing up with a bright clean light. We may need to pick the lock that would keep us out, but we can, and then in the company of a few trusted companions we walk fearlessly down into the dark. We’re not intending to battle what’s down there, we’re not going to crucify anyone, and we’re not interested in doing anything that entangles us with them or in any of their ugly ideas. We’re going to show up and say calmly and openly with the power of a storm, we do not consent. We won’t live in the world they’re cooking up down there and won’t be impeded by them from building a palace of love.

We don’t go down there intending to get entangled with them by going to war with them over the next horrible iteration of a social game board they dreamt up while under the influence of something unkind that whispers to them in that darkness.

And right there in that place we’re going to establish a light of awareness and keep it lit. We’re going to plant seeds right there in the good earth and start tending to a lovely new garden. We’re going to plant and grow beautiful networks of friendship and community and nurture each other. We’re going to be loving, supportive and kind to each other.

We’re building a palace of love and care right there, right where we are, not in their darkness, but in our own light. We’re building it together with our friends, and we refuse to live in fear of what goes on down there in the dark.

So good, Caitlin. Only someone as scathingly honest as you can be believed when she says it's going to be okay. With you as my inspiration, my last post on "Meaning Is All There Is" included your "Hard to Swallow Pills" and presented my craziest ideas on ultimate reality. I think you might find them in line with yours. Today I'll make one with a hard-nosed analysis on Ukraine. I'm glad that you are alternating between the two, and sometimes in the same post ;-)

The heart of darkness is not just a place Joseph Conrad described in King Leopold's Congo, nor a place in the apocalypse of Vietnam. The heart of darkness is the empty soul of Gina Haspel, this nameless life coach and the other government officials and politicians who protect them.

I keep reading this over and over. To read anything else right now is to start down from the mountaintop.

Freda is proud she didn't "stand on the sidelines". Well, she did stand on the sidelines so far as evolution and human progress is concerned: they passed her by. Although I'll never believe stark cruelty was ever part of our genetic endowment - it doesn't work. It's something learned, and passed off as strength and mastery, but it's really a delusional two-headed snake that bites and poisons the wielder. She responded to "bumps in the dark", never realizing she was it. What an appropriate and terrifying icon for the dark side of US and its history, a side they seem now completely immersed and drowning in.

If you're on the "mainline" in affairs of state, it shouldn't be holding an electric shock device, actual or metaphorical, and musing on the best ways to elicit the maximum pain. Sounds so US/West policy in Ukraine, doesn't it?

Call me over sensitive but I get the feeling you're not a big fan of America...

That is rather good writing. A little on the purple prose side but the material justifies that.

You are mostly very coherent and substantive but this topic seems to have dragged you into a world of purple prose and emotional overload.

To take issue with one statement - Does one fall to one's knees and weep hot tears for the Indigenous, whose lives we bulldozed and paved over with asphalt just to build a ghostmind civilization where something like this could happen?

Who is WE? And what is indigenous? If you mean native peoples who were colonised I would simply point out that they too colonised, generally eradicating utterly any others they stumbled across as they colonised Australia, the Americas, the pacific, Africa, Asia etc.

As to building a ghostmind civilization, that is to deny the many positive aspects of our modern world which those deemed 'indigenous' also want and accept when offered. 'WE' spend billions every year trying to help people in less developed nations join our modern world and having lived in India and four African countries, as well as having spent time in remote communities in Australia and been exposed to 'native' communities in the Canada and US, I can assure you, they want what we have and why would they not?

For all the 'wrongs' inherent in our modern world it is foolish to dismiss in such cavalier fashion, those things which are not in the least 'ghostmind,' like safe water, efficient sanitation and hygiene, modern dentistry and surgery and a world where most developed nations strive to support and assist the vulnerable.

Beware painting with a broad brush of doom across our modern world for that leads to the destruction of the best along with the worst. I can assure you, for all of its faults, the modern world, the Western world remains a better place to live than do less developed nations. Particularly for females, children, the sick, disabled, poor and aged.

The climate collapse? That’s too funny. Global Warming, brought to you by the same Experts™️ and Scientific Consensus™️ as AIDS drugs, Vioxx, Oxy, Advandia, etc. Brought to you by the same CIA controlled media that lies about...basically everything. And brought to you by your concerned government that is really just looking out for your best interests and is not at all trying to subjugate you.

Ahh yes, global warming is totally our fault. It could never be that giant ball of fire in the sky now could it? The Sciene™️ would never do something like say, erase the Medieval Warm Period to form a hockey stick graph. They would never cherry pick the starting point of a graph to coincide with the low point in temperature, completely ignoring all of the warmer temperatures before that (when CO2 levels were lower). The Science™️ would never just outright change data points, and they definitely would never, ever crush dissenting opinions and silence them thus making most everyone else self censor less they become a pariah. No, none of that would EVER happen!

some creatures are bred, born, and raised as soulless monsters. you can't sell your soul to the devil as your soul won't let you. the silver-lining of the ongoing hellish conditions is that the monsters have been coming out of their closet. let's make sure we banish every single one of them from our new just and peaceful world.
