The argument I've heard most is that a minor setback for fascism is better than allowing it to advance full force. So, that's argument you made yourself in the article ("all that's changed with Biden's election is that some parts of it might possibly not be as bad") and I suppose you value that less than the strategic voters which is fine.

The politicians we get to choose from are quite different depending on their party though, right? Obviously none are radical or revolutionaries but the ones who might be able to work towards that eventually and the ones who the left would prefer to have the president's ear all seem to be within the blue team.

So that's the possible win as I see it, though I agree it's not exactly cause for celebration :/

Why is there such a need to quote

Biden from almost 50 years ago? I know I have changed over 50 years. He has admitted to mistakes and by doing this he has a conscience and this doesn't support fascism. Your view is too cynical for me. I think we are capable of growing and changing when a descent human being is in office, unlike Trump who would have greatly benefitted in a fascist country and who would never have left office. I think we will look back in history and consider this is the closest to fascism we have ever been during the Trump administration. Right now we look like a banana republic to the rest of the world.

Thank you, Caitlin, for speaking truth to power. I hope when the Biden honeymoon ends, people will wake up to the reality that at best, they elected the equal evil; at worst, they elected the more evil evil.

As I've said elsewhere, we've voted out a fake fascist and voted in the real thing, given Biden's clear alliance with the blood-soaked US intelligence community and their alliance with the media. This differs from what you're saying here, but your assessment makes more sense, I'll concede.

Caitlin, for once I have to take exception to something you wrote: in paragraph 7, you said that those who voted for Biden could "become complacent."

Sorry, but they were complacent before the 2020 election, or they wouldn't have voted that way. Or at all.

They were complacent in believing that Biden, or the Democrats, or the faux-left, would or could improve anything in the world today, and they voted out of that complacency.
