We shouldn't need "whistleblowers" to "shine a light" on what our government is doing in our name. The "light" should always be on. It's the DUTY of our lavishly paid representatives to keep us informed—not persecuted for knowing what's going on.
I would be stricken with horror if not for the awareness there are unknown forces at work, even as nation states and corporations would destroy us (COVID, Climate, Pollution, Unending War, Broken Politics, Corruption). Catastrophic and pregnant. Such is our Earthlife now.

Note that the Empire is relying more and more on overt repression, and their excuses for resorting to repression grow ever flimsier.
