There aren’t words to describe Bolton, Frum et al. And how did priceless Iraqi artefacts of civilization wind up in Manhattan penthouses? See the Uber weasel Michael Steinhardt.

This is more sickening Mad Dog Albright-style “it was worth it” having 500,000 Iraqi women and children die. What could be more perfect? I despise these people who got their positions by replying to ads seeking subhuman primates? So now we know why the US refused to count Iraqi deaths and casualties , flouting international laws and agreements. It makes lying about the numbers that much easier.

Frum may have coined “axis of evil” but ever since he’s been the ass-kiss of evil, brown-nosing in war hawk circles and promoting the fictions about the Uighurs in China from CIA-funded Uighur expats, completely unaware of the heinous world-leading genocide of American Natives.

For me, any question of Bolton's sanity was removed during his exchange with Stella Assange on the Peirs Morgan show. It was the first time I'd heard him debate another person and the visceral hate he exudes, even while laughing, is palpable. He is the real personification of a James Bond villain while the West panics over caricatures of Putin.

Note that a few years ago, calling the United States an "empire" (which it is) would have resulted in a stream of tut tutting from the bluecheck set.

Now they proclaim it proudly.

Bolton... One of the most disgusting, psychopathic swamp creatures to ever grace the airwaves with his relentless war-mongering. I can only surmise that the man must be getting some sexual gratification out of the constant "war, war, war". I so hope that he is fully vaxxxed and quadruple boosted. May his end be swift and painful. This ghoul is what passes for a security "expert" today.

Heaven help the planet.

I think anyone who believes this anniversary is something to be proud of or celebrate is one sick delusional bunny. Which also ties in with having psychopaths like Bolton in positions of significant power and influence. If we are to change as a society then we desperately need to change the selection process for both voted and unelected positions of government. The whole culture of climbing the slippery ladder and getting ahead in politics, the military and governing bureaucracy actually cultivates an environment of advancement of narcissistic psychopaths to thrive upon. The system is broken beyond repair and there is nothing to hold these individuals in check or accountable. For our species to evolve we need to change the selection and advancement process of those whom we chose to lead us by a different process focusing on different core values.

Bolton represents BOTH parties. And, like those parties, is not remotely interested in the people of any country whatsoever, except as a means to exerting power and inflict punishment and death in that quest. A broad sweeping statement, I know, but I see nothing to contradict it.

I do not think that many, if any at all, of our "elected" officials and the people who are appointed by those "elected" officials, think of themselves as "public servants" in any way. In fact, they consider we the people as their servants. IMO, our government has not been Constitutional for a long, long time, Or democratic. I put elected in quotes because our elections are really the equivalent of a prix fixe menu composed by madmen and corporations.

Agree 100%. We have so many suspected psychopathic serially abusive types in power it really gives us pause. And this seems to appear everywhere in our culture today across the planet. It is not at all limited to the USA.

Nothing makes me feel sleazier as an American than for the likes of Bolton to: a) be roaming free--uncharged for their crimes against humanity; and b) that they remain "credible experts" in world affairs.

When you keep in mind that the west was built on violent settler colonialism, trans Atlantic slavery, racism, the eradication of native people, etc, it all starts to make sense.

Hitler looked up to the US for its handling of its native population and used that as inspiration for the Holocaust. The precursors to modern day fascism have been with us since the beginning of the west.

The violence of white supremacism is the common denominator between all these wars of choice and “good interventions”.

Nice job, Caitlin. Insightful and well-written, as usual. The warmongers are trying to prevent any comparison to the current situation in Ukraine, claiming that they don't always get things horribly wrong and that instigating war and regime-change isn't necessarily bad and can even have long-term positive results. Too bad most of us can see the propaganda machine in panic right now as their Ukraine narrative continues to dissolve before their very eyes. Also, the fact that Bolton thought he'd be taken seriously as a 2024 presidential candidate attests to his inability to see himself clearly. And yes, he is probably encouraged by the MSM attention he gets, clueless to the dying credibility of that segment of "information" reporting.

The famine caused by allied annexation of Iran during WW2 caused a million Iranian deaths. We stole their railways and Iran couldn't transport their grain. Not a word of apology. So let's just invade again eh?

People like Chomsky, Ritter, Greenwald etc. get pushed off to places that largely out of public view while the likes of Bolton are constantly held up as authoritative experts as if they had a track record that was worthy of admiration.

Calling this an Idiocracy is far too kind.

"This man is a monster who belongs in a cage, but instead he's one of the most influential voices in the most powerful country on earth."

This subsumes the entire article and nothing more needs to be said.

We need to start changing this civilization, now.
