Palestine still remains my test case to determine actual American policy, as support for Israel entails so many divergent threads encompassing weapons manufacturers, human rights, racism, international law, the power of the UN to actually do some good, money in politics, censorship, and freedom of the press.
Pretty easy to see the US is failing badly on all accounts.

The Taliban could drop the hijab requirement, make gender studies obligatory in every school, college, training institute, university, medressah and licensed daycare in Afghanistan, institute mandatory quotas for hiring women, gays, transvestites, transsexuals and also feral cats in every government agency and private business and conduct diversity training and preferred pronouns at gunpoint, send drag queens on an all-singing, all-dancing government sponsored tour of Helmand Province, hand out medals to every translator, and declare agnosticism to be the new state religion, and the US and its vassals still would push for war and/or sanctions.

Sure we can all make our points respectfully, but that doesn't mean that there isn't much on the line regards covid and bodily autonomy.. the left is saying the state has a right to do what it deems in the public interest with my body. The right is saying whoa.. keep your hands to yourself!! Weird that the roles have changed. Maybe it's always been that way but i never went for it. Free speech as well. I've always considered myself leftist, and free speech was always part of that. My conclusion is political people are more fucked up than your average Joe. And perversely so!!
