Thank you for sharing this, Caitlin.

In the spirit of "triangulating" information like the empire stooges, I think we're definitely arriving at a critical juncture where the relationship between Five Eyes members needs to be understood in the broader context of the Anglo-American slime mold and its intelligence octopus. It's not just the US, or the CIA, or FBI. If we consider the 2003 WMD "dodgy dossier" that sparked the Iraq war propaganda campaign and then fast-forward to the 2016 ''dirty dossier,'' we discover a great irony. In both cases, the “dossiers” which set an entire chain of events into motion and fundamentally altered the course of American politics, Britain's MI6 was at the center of planning the operations. Christopher Steele, who set the 2016 Russiagate operation into motion was a protege of none other than... Sir Richard Dearlove, then MI6 director who presided over the 10 Downing Street WMD dodgy ''intelligence'' dossier.

It's the same small grouping.

While the US military has served as the muscle for imperial wars, I think people often fail to distinguish the brains from the brawn. British intelligence tends to play a catalytic role in many of the most pivotal US foreign and domestic policy programs, largely by shaping the discourse and narratives, especially through their many brain trusts like the Rhodes Scholarship, the Council on Foreign Relations (which was created as an extension of Chatham House). The Rhodes Scholarships, which regularly churns out new agents sponsored by the rabid imperialist Cecil's Rhodes ''Rhodes Scholarship'' fund which he set up to maintain the global supremacy of the English white race (that was literally his stated goal)... Many of these scholars are trained in Britain and then return to the US to carry out policy changes.

The narrative control is run by a small and tight high-level intelligence circle, but it would be a mistake to attribute most of that narrative control to the USA. It's much more nuanced than that.

The US is only one of the ''Five Eyes,'' but the idea of the American Republic, despite all its failings and tragedy in recent times, remains the primary target for destruction by this Anglo-American slime mold. All we have to do is look at how every policy adopted by recent administrations has been aimed at destroying the American economy and bringing it under the control of this Wall Street-City of London financial octopus (with the Five Eyes being its intelligence arm).

These interests need to destroy the idea of the American Republic and the US Constitution to impose the kind of global fascist technocratic dictatorship they want. They know this. As long as even a faint memory of that exists, there's always the risk of some uprising. Hence, why they have such mixed feelings about the internet and how quickly information spreads. A lot of resources have been poured into training these Fabians and empire stooges and other deep state creatures through a tightly controlled network of ''elite'' universities and academic brain trusts, ''think tanks'' and other empire cutouts.

Alas, finding out that outfits like Bellingcat and British intelligence are plotting to destroy one of the most important American independent news outlets comes as no surprise.

"May be altered or faked".

That was the same nonsense peddled when the DNC emails were leaked. Of course, they were unaltered and genuine.

Just as with the DNC leak, Mason really thinks his emails were altered or faked, it should be easy for him to demonstrate.

Of course, Mason knows better, which is why he deflects and throws out baseless accusations, rather than rise to the challenge.

I remember how uncomfortable it can be to be considered a "far left rogue academic" -- in my case, someone teaching/preaching to his college students, the apocalyptic reality of biosphere destruction and climate change during the late 1980's. It's minimally satisfying -- if at all -- to be proven correct years later. The scars remain, as illustrated by a friend who asked why I've been so angry. My answer was anger at living in a society dominated by mindless criticism and uninformed bloviation against anyone with a perspective counter to the conventional billionaire-generated standard narrative. The deeper gut-level answer is that I daily feel like I can't freaking breathe in this atmosphere of mendacity.

I can remember my introduction to Bellingcat, they were promoted on the BBC, Andrew Neil's 'Daily Politics' show to be precise. For people who don't know, Andrew Neil provided the only credible inquisitions on domestic politicians and policies on the BBC, it was ( and remains ) a very low bar though, his geo-political commentary was always less convincing and considering the subsequent patterns of behaviour, now highly suspect in my opinion.

The subject matter was Syria, the date around 2015 I think. Bellingcat were introduced as 'citizen journalists', which I found odd at the time, essentially quoted as 'independent' journalists who supported attacking Assad's Syria. Additional 'independent' evidence was provided by the 'Syrian Observatory for Human Rights', an organisation frequently quoted on the BBC, which subsequently turned out to be a man in a semi detached house in the UK midlands who was funded by the UK Foreign Office, as exposed by Peter Hitchens.

All very incestuous, as it turns out.

Evefyday I wonder if things will get worse before they get better. I'm never disappointed.

Doesn't all US MSM have cozy relationships with the FBI/CIA proven at least by the IG report during Trump, GWB during Iraq, and too many others to count? Shouldn’t we assume all corporate media outlets are corrupt? When there is no diversity among those educating our children and those reporting our news who are 95+% Progressive useful idiots it demonstrates the real diversity problem we face.

Well, it's a well known fact and logical principle that "triangulating" info from Hell legitimizes and rehabilitates it. It's all in the "triangulation", or trial by fire. Maybe all this shit will sharpen the public's sensitivity to misinformation generally. It isn't all that difficult, I mean, "curveball"??? And the Russian shtick is getting downright borrrring. If Russia didn't exist they'd have to invent it. Well, their version is invented.

What a wasted effort on the part of Mason and Khan. The alleged "anti-war left" has been subverted already a million ways to one to the point it doesn't really exist except as a figment of wild imaginations. What the hell do you think "Justin Raimondo" is? That was two decades earlier. Same thing. The subversion goes back way beyond that.

You call what Eliot Higgins did a "pace"; I would call it a moonwalk.

Ragefully chasing these beings down the street with a heavy broken off table leg will feel SO good after all these decades of bottling.

Nina Jancowcz (or Ursula Poppins as I like to call her)- is almost indescribably vile and objectionable. Her very existence must be excruciating torment for the Cosmic Mother that holds space for Things to Exist. Please send her back to the void ASAP. Amen

I have grown to despise Mason. He’s a shape-shifting ideologue with the false belief - despite his own messianic confidence - that he’s still a man of the people by dint of being born in a small, northern (English) former mining town. I’ve watched him transform and shift to keep himself positioned in a semi-political, media, intelligence limelight. A dangerous man who has parallels with Christopher Hitchens and his shift to neoliberal fandom and support for the Iraq war. A disgusting creature who’s own self-interest trumps morality and conviction.

LOL They are on fire, and soon their entire house of cards is gonna burn right on down. What a bunch of jerks. And AGAIN, with the "Russia hacking us" bullshit? Puh-leeeeze.

The GZ article reads like Mason is having a break down but he probably isn't. He's just doing a Russiagate repeat: deflect responsibility for a gigantic screw up by trying to pin the blame an imaginary Russian/Chinese spy conspiracy.

What was Mason's role in the shameful defenestration of Corbyn?

"Grayzone may have risked exposure of my confidential journalistic sources." Specifically, Amil Khan. As with Paul Masson, Eliot Higgins does not challenge the authenticity of emails Grayzone has published, just that they were "hacked."
