I can vaguely remember thinking during the dark Bush years, as each new war scandal leaked out, "Oh, now finally this is what will bring down these criminals." Of course it never happened. Most of those Abu Ghriab torture photos have yet to see the light of day, not that it would make any difference.

Twenty years later, nothing's changed, and the lying has gone mainstream.

Thank you, Caitlin, for your voice of sanity. I remember searching for such a voice in the 1970s in black-prints and flyers at university students' stalls. The main stream media has never had it.

It must be noted that Desmond Tutu remains one of the good guys, consistently standing for the rights of the Palestinians to be treated like human beings. Zionism was and is a rotten idea.

Turkey and Erdogan have nearly bankrupted themselves with Syria superpower games bloodsport. Strongman Erdogan is not worried. He prob still has miles of schemes to rally the Turkic states that are near Xinjiang. Thus making himself useful, he thinks. The great game.

As soon as the US and West start talking about human rights, you know it's the wolf under the sheepskin - (just a metaphor!- I absolutely adore wolves). Their noble position on Uighurs drips with irony - and of a vicious kind, because this group are well-off in China, especially considering the fact they were systematically radicalized in Afghanistan by the US in the 70s for the purpose of causing trouble in China. In the US they'd have been tortured, imprisoned, stripped of their citizenship and rights, probably in Guantanamo.

I think I am going to have to make a new years resolution and swear off Caitoz.

I was being funny about something she wrote and she is offended again. Yes, I went a bit too far again but I just can’t help it; I’m from Waskasoo.

Caitlin has been an inspiration for my own writing. Some of the stuff I put out criticizing her directly or indirectly has been my most read. But ultimately that is not a good thing.

Caitlin can be a really good writer. But she is dead wrong on too many things, especially recently. I really cannot abide things like; encouraging people to “live with” a deadly pandemic, pushing libertarian type ‘negative rights’ nonsense, or martyr cults around self harmers.

She talks about the end of illusions but retails some pretty big delusions.

What I was reacting to her about was an apparent challenge from her to anyone to disprove her about digital surveillance. I dislike debates but that is a challenge I could take up. I am very big on positive as opposed to negative rights.

Positive rights give people something, negative rights are worthless. If Cait wants to debate this with me on some neutral ground, she can consider the glove dropped. Other than that, I will not be following her in 2022.
