This is great stuff, Caity. We weep as we read it, but smile as we weep, knowing we are in the presence of true wit, goodness, and intelligence. Stay safe and live long.

Thank you, Caitlin. This is a refreshing discussion about actual policies and events, rather than preaching to the choir about propaganda and narrative.

I have discovered your writing only recently, and enjoy your witty contempt for contemporary culture and its acolytes. I got reprimanded by FB for circulating your hilarious "clown" take down of the British royals. But, sincere question: I regard everyone who doesn't champion socialism as the cure for our ills as right-wing. Rail against injustice all you like, but are you doing it from inside or outside embrace of an economic system that features class divisions and exploitation as foundational? Oh yeah, the question: WTF? Socialist or not?

Mainstream culture sucks. What matters is Life, and our part in it, which we happen to share due to the totality of Now. So we're all stuck here together in life. Which means how we play it NOW is the big deal for our experience of life. So, the culture we do not reject is built on Life itself. not bad. world 5.0. Here's to more aircraft carriers!!!

I have a ton of criticisms of Hollywood because they do make propaganda but your comment was just a straw man. None of the movies nominated for Oscars this year are propaganda for capitalism or US empire. In fact a few of them expose how the FBI killed Fred Hampton and Billie Holliday.

I love Caitlin's perspectives in print. I might love to listen to them too, if only the voice were tolerable. This man's flat toned, deep vocal fry grates on every nerve in my body with a mildly suicidal undertone added in just for shits and no giggles. Too bad, because I am an avid listener! Caitlin, can you find a more expressive and gentler voice for us? For me? Big Love and keep fighting!

As an American who lived abroad for most of the 1980s, I'm always gratified when non-Americans make that key distinction between Americans and the wholly unaccountable clot of elites who run this country. Thank you.
