I've been reading all I can about Covid for over a year and I don't know what the fuck is going on or who or what to believe. And I'm fairly savvy. There is simply too much conflicting information and too many lies and too much manipulation. I know only two things: a) my own government has lied to me and the fact that Slate Magazine refers to them as "noble lies" doesn't make them noble; b) I don't want my government, which spreads it's own disinformation (as Slate recently reported), teaming up with big tech to decided what constitutes mis- and disinformation and then censoring it.

We're not all economists, yet we should have the right to criticise the government and industry for economic policy because it affects all of us. We're not all scientists specializing in disease pathology or novel coronaviruses, and yet we still should have the right to criticise governments and pharmaceutical industries for making decisions that affect our personal lives as well. I wouldn't trust myself to develop a vaccine, and yet I have had enough experience and knowledge about pharmaceutical industries and governments not to trust them either. Democracy involves us making decisions about public policy and cannot preclude the essential step of exploring inconvenient truths, dissension, and criticism in a fair and reasonable manner. Yes, I understand that we don't really live in a democracy, but I won't bow to any Ministry of Truth until they accept all kinds of questions before they embrace any singular answer.

You have to have a pretty good bullshit meter, but i don't find that the data is so hard to get, especially when explained by someone who is reasonable and a good communicator... i think if you're mixing in mainstream narrative into the brew, the info will be contradictory. YOu really have to look at data, and there are plenty of people doing just that on youtube and the other video sites. Plenty!!

It seems like the end of the liberal dream. You say left and right but what are we to make of that soft center that only is establishment. It's not easy to find left. Maybe because they left the left years ago. Now they just parrot the neo con and neo lib views, while standing up for women, gays, people of color and transexuals of course. Unless they live in countries that we're bombing right now.

Here's how my brain works: the same institutions, pundits, media sources, government agencies, and politicians who lie to me about foreign intervention, the economy, Israel, Wall Street, whistleblowers, and the state of the nation are not to be trusted when discussing a global pandemic.

There. Not one science required.

if you think rent is a scam, wait until you hear about property taxes

Around the start of the 20th Century, Henry George wrote *Progress and Poverty*, an analysis of economic rent, how it distorts the "market" and condemns people to poverty. A difficult read for 21st Century readers, but well worth it.

Regarding scientific training, it requires no scientific training at all to read and understand Dr. Meryl Nass's article on the fraudulent "WHO "Solidarity" and UK "Recovery" Clinical Trials of Hydroxychloroquine using Potentially Fatal Doses," or any of the other lies and sabotage of ANY outpatient treatment of Covid-19. This has been the MO of Fauci ever since he sabotaged off-patent drugs to boost AZT during the AIDs epidemic, against the gay community protested vociferously at the time. Caitlin is very right, when stating that she lacks the knowhow for dissecting what is fact, what is a pure guess and what is already proven nonsense about Covid information and claims. Even earthly specialists educated and paid for knowing it are seldomly if at all admitting their known about and unknown unknowns. In current times there is hardly a source one can somewhat trust without own verification. Regarding the virus, vaccination etc., as weird as it might read, but based on prior own personal verifications of many other unrelated claims, this one is certainly an interesting source to pay attention to: https://theyflyblog.com/2020/09/new-online-covid-19-test/ In contrast to practices by other earthly experts and institutions, none of these claims since November 2019 had to be corrected or withdrawn.

Are rental cars also a scam? How about hotel rooms? What about commercial or retail rent? Is this satire, or just obtuseness?

I’m reading Chomsky, he points out repeatedly that the government chooses who wins in so-called capitalism. Public risk - private profit is maintained through close collaboration of government and private entities. Government picks the winners, supports the winners and protects the winners in what purports to be capitalist competition.

I’m a capitalist I own a company. From my perspective, from my 27 years of experience government is the problem. Government has a self perpetuating logic, government employees doling out money through programs, invariably overly complex programs, are primarily interested in perpetuating the program to perpetuate their own job. It’s a waste of money.

If you wanna fight for something that will help people, establish a $20 an hour minimum wage. Dump all the stupid programs. Give people money and get out of their way. Reduce the size of government. Insane overreach is our myopia, it is ineffectual and patently wasteful.

Government is the problem. Government creates the distortions. That said late stage capitalism with its great pools of money is evil.

I’m just a normal guy with no particular expertise so that is my practical advice, something that I think would make a difference, give people more money and less government. The left believe in government. Your belief is wrong.
