Fantastic set of metaphors. Unfortunately, despite a usually deep list of higher-ed creds, the brain-deads in my generation nonetheless seem easily seduced by identity rubbish. My metaphor is that of the "nice person syndrome" --- the parish priest who visits the sick yet buggers young boys (or girls) in his congregation. It's akin to thinking: "oh my, isn't Joe Biden a nice man to include women, gay people, and people of color in his administration. Not at all like that ogre Trump." Evidence that a university or postgraduate education does not necessarily produce a critical thinker.

You are such a righteous bad ass, Caity.

You said it. Nothing is going to change from within the system. The establishment seem to have a plan to destroy any scenario the people may find to act in their own interests. Then bam they move the goalpost, (as they say). We really must act outside of the system in mass. How we do that I have no effing idea. I just heard Trump is blabbing about running again in 2024. Yet another way to suppress progress.

Thank you for focusing on a solution to the mess we've allowed ourselves to be in. We are the ones who need to get us out. A lot of people are asleep but many of us are not. I think we can consider most people who read your articles, listen to Jimmy Dore, Glenn Greenwald, etc. are awake. We would like to contribute but we're not going to march in the streets or pay organizations to fight our battles for us. These are old-school ideas that haven't worked very well. We need a sustainable, cost-free way to demonstrate, ideally from our homes. Today's technology allows us to do that.

I live in PA's First Congressional district. I know a few activists in the district but if I knew 20 or 30 more like-minded, Caitlyn Johnstone reading, activists then I feel we could effectively lobby and pressure legislators and media get the things we want. I think it's best to start with M4A and take on each issue one by one. All we are asking for people to supply is their name and zip code. This idea becomes stronger when more districts get involved.

Hoping or waiting for a progressive leader to come along is a waste. Criticizing our governments alone is not enough. We need a group of local activists to spread a plan for M4A as well as spread progressive ideas including your own. What I am asking you is to invite your subscribers to be a part of the effort. We can start in my district and from there I believe we can bring in other districts. Here's the idea if you haven't already seen it. https://sites.google.com/site/congressionalwatchdogcentral/

With all the love and admiration in the world for what you write, I have to say this:

If trust in mass media is at an all time low then how did mass media turn this society into a bunch of psychosis addled mask nazis, voting in a nitwit and his nitwit sidekick who promised them more masks and more lockdowns based on nothing but fearmongering and censorship of anyone not committing to narrative? Why aren't most people seeking out the truth that the media is obfuscating? They can't keep media buzzwords out of their mouths, sounding to any listening like they managed some sort of cut and paste from media opinion pieces directly into their own brains and mouths. Ridiculing even the desire to search for truth on one's own.

I use the word psychosis purposely because even now, before the ink has even dried on Biden's paperwork, he's already backpedaled on almost everything he claimed he was going to do in the campaign, is filling his cabinet with the exact same people that his constituents elected Obama to get away from (see how that went and yet they elect Biden!), and are now showing up in articles with buyer's remorse because of those things and because the one promise he did keep, which was to continue doing what one does if one never wants herd immunity, is being outed as coming up next. They are acting as if they didn't hear a word anyone said about Biden throughout.

Personally I have grown tired of people like this having the right to vote. It's like putting 70 million people on the roads without having bothered to learn to drive because "lessons bum me out". Except it's even more dangerous than that.

I love your writing Caitlin, & agree with vast bulk of it, but after the paranoid hysteria that has been hoisted upon us by MSM & govt/corporates working hand in glove thru this whole Covid debacle in 2020, & the willing, almost gleeful, uptake of “the fear” by what...80%?, 90%? of the masses, my “fear” is that most people are too easily led by the nose to the metaphorical slaughter to be able to gain the critical mass to make real positive change possible. I don’t doubt that Covid is a real corona virus, but it does not take 2020 vision [Sidebar: funny ‘co-incidence’, yet again, how date #’s keep being ‘significant’ for major events; e.g. 911, London 7/7/2005= 7/7/7, etc...& this year 2020 vision has been decidedly absent from nearly all MSM debate], to see that cases vs fatality’s are way, way, overhyped, & that this is ‘just’ another bad seasonal flu, with the old & infirm particularly vulnerable, as they are in all winter flu seasons. Rahm Emanuel famously said “Never let a good crisis go to waste”, & you can certainly see that WEF, et al, had formulated, & had their Great Reset package ready to roll the minute they could see that the masses were going to swallow “the fear” bait, hook, line & sinker. www.wrongkindofgreen.org amongst others has heaps on this point. What solution do you suggest to overcome this deep-seated & very widespread cultural miasma of fear...??
