I think for many people politics has stopped being about policy and representation and has now become more of a personal identity. So if you say Biden is lying, it's as if you've personally attacked their grandmother. I can't really put my finger on why this has happened but l have family members who l can't talk politics with, after years of being able to. America -- as well as Americans -- appear to be in a deep psychosis.

I generally vote 3rd party, but the Democrats have become so disgustingly evil, actually frightful in their calls to censor and "re-educate," that I FEEL like voting Republican. As Caitlin says, "A growing awareness of the truth of our large-scale collective dynamics as a species, and a growing awareness of our inner processes as individuals," helps me to recognize that FEELING for what it is, an irrational urge to commit a self-destructive act.

Those who give in to that FEELING and vote Republican will be helping to accomplish the Democratic goal to, "...lose and go back to letting the Republicans play the bad cop." The only paths to take that are not self-destructive are a) vote for a 3rd party candidate or Mickey Mouse and b) to demonstrate the illegitimacy of the system by not voting at all. I choose a) because it sends the message that I am NOT apathetic, and gives hope as people did in 1854-55 that a viable 3rd party alternative can develop, as the Republican Party eventually did, to counter the complicity of the Whigs and Democrats with the slave states.

All you have to know about the Dimocrats is the "leadership" they've thrown up against the wall the last 50 years - either very liberal bomb throwers, weak-kneed moderates, or outsider governors who thought they knew more than anyone else but were brought down by their inherent faults: McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, W., Gore, Kerry, Obama, Clinton, H., Biden.

Some may have been "good on paper," as they like to say, but they were policy-short and a dollar-late. They couldn't move the party forward if "forward" meant downhill on an icy road.

The only flickering light the Dems had was Slick Willie Clinton, but he was so far up Averill Harriman's and the other elites' asses of the day that he couldn't or wouldn't govern. Tackling health care the first year? BIG MISTAKE! That will certainly never happen again - until Obama gave it a try in 2009. Dims never learn.

Slick Willie did the super-predator thing (didn't work out), repealed Glass-Steagal (REALLY didn't work out), and diddled that intern what's-her-name (Impeached. Great.) Besides Tip O'Neill and Harry Reid - who were dyed-in-the-wool predatory opportunists themselves, I can't think of another Dimocrat who made much of a ripple the last 50 years. Yeah, Ted Kennedy was the "Lion of the Senate," but that was when he wasn't drowning campaign workers.

Currently we're stuck with criminal Trumpublicans who can't and won't govern, as well as Dimocrats who want to govern but can't get past their "Learner's Permit" stage.
