I like the label "Intersectional Imperialism" for the Biden administration. Always a well written observatory essay, thanks Caity.

Spot on, Caity. How did this ever be considered normal behaviour by commentators? Ah, the same sort of bias exists in that group, too, methinks!

The best part of scapegoating white males and the "cisgendered, heterosexual, white patriarchy" is that POC and females get a pass for their participation in the hierarchy. Even otherwise cogent pundits like Caitlin find the slope a bit slippery. Yes, "all over the world for thousands of years" the "stronger" asserted "dominance over the way that civilization was run." Nobody would disagree that impediments were placed in the paths of women, but "strong women" were never totally excluded from this process. Nefertiti, Cleopatra, Boudica, Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots and Catherine the Great prove that the "glass ceiling" was never impenetrable, even at the pinnacle of power. Indeed, Athena shows this to be true even in the pantheon.

Don't get me wrong. I love Caitlin; I'm a fan and support her with a small donation, but systems of power and hierarchy are not exclusively the creation of men. That's why Lysistrata was a play, a fantasy and a comedy, rather than reality, and perhaps why Athens continued her imperial ways until finally defeated more by her own hubris than by Sparta.
