I regularly point out to the vacuous pseudo 'left' in Aotearoa NZ that their darling Jacinda Ahern worked in the office of Tony Blair who murdered a million innocents, including Iraqi military patriots and has never once denounced him.

Beware the enemy within.

Nothing stopped Germany's war machine (begun by Frederick the Great and Bismarck) until Germany had been laid waste and occupied and bankrupted. Nothing will stop the American war machine until it has suffered a similar disaster. As an American, I would be unhappy at the prospect. But nothing else will pull us up short.

There is ONE bit of good news in sight! I'm an old man and probably won't live that long!

If the rest of you are younger, too bad. Stop the juggernaut if you can.

We were advised long ago not to take part in a land war in Asia. That was excellent advice and every American who has defied it has regretted it.

I've never understood why the peace movement doesn't emphasize the costs of war. Morality will never move policy but if billboards all over the country contained the simple statistics -- THIS is what the US spends each day on foreign invasions -- and THIS is probably what it costs you in taxes while your roads and schools deteriorate -- I do believe it would effect some change especially if kept up until it did. So why hasn't that happened? Why doesn't some peace organization get the ball rolling? No other form of protest or action will work unless you appeal to the pocketbooks of voters and taxpayers.

Your finger always finds the necessary pulse to tap at the moment. How Americans have been coddled, shielded, desenitized, and normalized to the horror of what's been done and continues to be done in their name is itself horrifying. I can only imagine what the mess that is the US government looks like from the outside; from the inside it looks like manufactured dysfunction cheaply disguised as the best thing ever.

There's a reason I kept comparing Russiagate to WMDgate, why I listed Biden's vote for the Iraq War as a reason I wouldn't vote for him, why I believe the Military-Industrial Complex and CIA deserve the same treatment Italian communist partisans gave Mussolini, and why I dance on the graves of dead war criminals.

And you would not believe how much shit neolibs have given me over the last few years as a result.

What about Charles Krauthamer, Neo-con cheerleader for the Washington Post, town crier for the War, still spouting. He was the herald of 'crack babies' and the domestic pay-op ratcheting up the War on Drugs- going on far longer than Iraq. And he's Canadian=destroying us from within and without.
