I confess to being one who thought Jimmy should just let it go. Thanks for clearing it up for me. I seriously thought that "everyone" knew TYT was just fascists in disguise. Obviously, I was wrong.
A few points: As Jimmy says, he didn't fracture the left, he exposed the left, and by left we're talking about posers like AOC, the Squad, and outfits like TYT.
There's a widespread and dangerous authoritarian streak on the left. Jimmy exposed that as well. Comics deal in hypocrisy -- it's where they get most of their material -- and the democrats hand Jimmy material by the truckload.
One reason Jimmy is essential is the guests he has on. Max Blumenthal, Aaron Mate, Chris Hedges, and Glenn Greenwald are voices that should be much more widespread. That they are mostly relegated to the media's fringes explains a lot about why things remain as bad as they are.
It's a crazier world: the democrats now love authority in the form of the FBI and the CIA, which in turn have gone all LBGTQ on us. Mainstream reporters are the ones calling for more censorship. Neocon slugs are now newly sanitized democratic allies. Given this craziness, is it any wonder that a leading truth-teller is a pot smoking jagoff comedian broadcasting out of his garage?
A while back someone thought I'd lost my mind when I was saying TYT was way to the right of my own socialist views. I'm relieved that I'm not the only one. But I'm not swayed by any specific ideology, therefore I don't fit with any one political view. In essence, a non-conformist--left on most areas, like anti-imperialism, war, socialism, anarchism, etc,; right on other views, like owning guns and living simply.
I've watched several different YouTube commentators, just to see other's views, but there's only a few I watch consistently; Collapse Chronicles(Sam Mitchell), Guy McPherson, and Derrick Jensen, a few others, and occasionally, J Dore and Lee Camp--for the chuckles. They are the ones that seems to know what actually needs to be saved, if at all possible, Earth--not industrial civilization. YouTube binging also can waste tons of time, which I try to avoid like the plague, if at all possible. Peace

For the record, I have great respect for Jimmy Dore, Aaron Mate, Matt Taibbi & Glenn Greenwald: courageous & honest voices on the left who the faux-left love to hate.
And I respect @Caitoz - another courageous person in a society addicted to illusion.
The concern with Dore and the entire progressive Youtube show is they are not talking about Medicare for All anymore. TYT is a lost cause, but the Force the Vote people have stopped having anything substantial on Medicare for All and Jimmy and others keep talking about Biden not doing the public option too.
