Fabricated atrocities to promote eternal war. Seems appropriate on Memorial Day to remember the actual atrocities perpetrated by my government on my generation. So here's to my old friend, P, who returned from Vietnam with nascent agent-orange-triggered cancer. The therapy for which then proceeded to ruin his lifelong health. The massive amount of hidden atrocities and ruined lives of its own citizens as a a result of US foreign policy in itself merits the appellation "atrocity" as Ron Kovic would doubtless opine; and it drives the selection of Memorial Day as my friend P's most hated day of the year. Yet we demean the victims of US atrocities through the propaganda of a feckless media driven by big money. Please don't freaking tell me, Newsweek et al., that you honor the service of our veterans.

It's becoming obvious the Ukranian government is preparing for capitulation to Russia as they are trying to clean-up their act and present scapegoats for their atrocities to their fellow Ukrainians and Russian military. It will be the contents of mobile phones that will condemn the Nazis in the Ukrainian military. I expect Russian tech will be able to recover deleted videos.

To The Editor:

In October 1962, at age 19, I slept next to the planes with the Paratroopers of the famed 82nd Airborne Division. We were waiting to jump into Havana in what would have been WWIII, if not for President Kennedy.

Russia had placed missiles in Cuba. Kennedy had mobilized our military to remove those missiles while he was in daily contact with the Russians, negotiating a way to Peace.

I am 80 now. Still grateful for president Kennedy’s love for our troops; grateful that he loved us enough to resolve the rush to WWIII by agreeing to remove U.S. missiles aimed at Russia from Turkey if the Russians took their missiles out of Cuba. Which they did.

I voted for President Biden, thinking he might have graduated from his warmongering past to discover a bit of JFK’s heroism for peace. How wrong I was!

Russia, like the United States has a human right to be free from NATO (U.S.) missiles. Most foreign affairs experts agreed. Most foreign affairs experts predicted for decades that if NATO expanded to threaten Russia, we’d be in WWIII. Biden understood that. But Biden does not care. Biden is surrounded by warmongers and fascists from the project for A New American Century, who deliberately led us into this war.

Now the bright spot is Zelensky’s peace offer to insure Ukrainians and Russians that Ukraine will no longer threaten Russia. The U.S. needs to promote this peace.

But on Saturday, Biden’s Secretary of State Tony Blinken, was in Israel trying to drum up more arms from the Israelis and our friends in Saudi Arabia (the folks who did 9/11 and bomb Yemen every day) for the war fighters in Ukraine.

There are many reporters now writing and saying that Biden, Victoria Nuland, and PNAC do not want peace. Biden says his sanctions will damage us all. Biden says we must accept decades more war.

I wonder…..who are these people? They attack us at home by cutting our wages, pensions and close plants. They ship our jobs to slaves in this constant domestic war on workers. And then, they take the domestic war on workers abroad with bullets, bombs and lies. This is their foreign policy.

I wonder….who are these people? Most of them seem to have never had a real job. Most couldn’t care less for working stiffs and our troops. Most of them are somehow the multi-millionaire Elite who are too proud to fight. And thus, the humble do the fighting. We do not need decades of more war. We need a new Peace Movement. We need a new Solidarity Movement. We need Good Jobs for All. We need a raise. We need to get along so our kids can live happy lives in happy communities.

Everywhere.

God bless Dorothy Day, Cesar Chavez, Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy!– Tom Laney

Nothing surprises me about this foul proxy war anymore. I'm just wondering when all the little blue/yellow flag icons will disappear from Twitter, Facebook and the like when folks finally realize how they've been lied to and manipulated.

'the Ukrainian government is more sceptical of Ukrainian government claims than the western mainstream press.'

at this point i'd say that fits a lot of countries right now

Oh, very well then, Lord Posonby's Ten Commandments of War Propaganda:

1. We don’t want war, we are only defending ourselves.

2. Our adversary is solely responsible for this war.

3. Our adversary’s leader is inherently evil and resembles the devil.

4. We are defending a noble cause, not our particular interests.

5. The enemy is purposefully committing atrocities; if we are making mistakes this happens without intention.

6. The enemy makes use of illegal weapons.

7. We suffer few losses, the enemy’s losses are considerable.

8. Recognized intellectuals and artists support our cause.

9. Our cause is sacred.

10. Whoever cases doubt on our propaganda helps the enemy and is a traitor.

Atrocity Propaganda? Who would do such a thing? Standard Amerikan practice. Wherever we spread our "liberty and freedom" the corruption follows...

Anything that challenges the current narrative is "misinformation", anything that supports the current current narrative is not. Facts and evidence are irrelevant.

Every war has been started and perpetuated by lies because the majority of human beings don't really want war. People who do have serious psychological problems. The people leading our governments and corporations, the media pundits and people who call for war, are unstable.

They just make it up as they go along. The BBC is the worst. Compare today to their documentaries on Ukraine circa 2014. 180 degrees out of phase. I guess they're counting on the fact that no one's looking, but a lot of us are. And you know, I don't care if you're just a cameraman or a grip. You get tagged with it as well, and there will be an accounting.

Thank you Caitlin! This exposure of Denisova is a perfect illustration of the avalanche of propaganda, funded by billions of $$–much of it taxpayer money, that insidiously serves to coverup the now hidden and conveniently forgotten evidence that Zelensky provoked Russia to intervene by ramping up the bombing of the Russian-speaking Donbas on February 16th. And so interventionist liberals label all their critics who refuse to buy the fabricated pretexts for war Putin apologists, including an increasing number of western military figures with impeccable credentials such as former Swiss colonel and ex-member of the Swiss strategic intelligence Jacques Baud, former US Colonel Dick Black, former US Colonel Douglas Macgregor, former Marine Corp Intelligence officer Scott Ritter, and former British Army major and Australian Army lawyer David Mcbride.

Interestingly, this phase of the propaganda war, fueled by a cadre of frontline fabricationists like Denisova, has created an unlikely alliance between detente conservatives and progressive defenders of the new non-aligned world order emerging from the Global South. That unlikely allies come together argues for dissenters' and war critics' allegiances to fact over ideology.

Propagandists on all sides, including the Russian side, succeed when their victims are unaware of how they have been duped and when their victims become so overwhelmed by conflicting information they have no other means to discern the truth than by appeals to emotions and ideology rather than basic verified facts. Victims of Denisova become so emotionally fused with their propagandists they are totally lost to critical thinking that entails questioning all assumptions, distinguishing fact from speculations, and recognizing the inherent subjectivity of knowledge.

No imperial side in this war is without its share of barbarous inhumanity. To justify and support one empire ganging up on another is not only misguided it is complicit in the harm being done by Zelensky and ultranationalists at the behest of Blinken against any Ukrainian opposition and against the Ukrainians in the Donbas who initially voted to become an autonomous region within Ukraine and not an independent republic.

Fabricated atrocity war porn for the totally uncritical western media brainwashed consumer. Before western colonial oligarchy's false system of 'education' (Latin 'to-lead-forth-from-within'), false 'religion' (L 'religio' = 'to-relate'), false 'media' (L 'medium' = 'middle') & false 'democracy' (Greek 'power-of-the-people') mess with children & all our brains, the natural person looks at multiple sides to issues in order to contrast & compare sources, facts, figures etc.

DIALECTIC RIGHTS We need to openly engage our own & other societies in dialectic rights for all people in all relationships as was once common in all humanity's ancient 'indigenous' (Latin 'self-generating') COUNCIL PROCESS.

IGNORANT AGGRESSION BASED IN DELIBERATE MISINFORMATION. Whenever there's conflict both at home & worldwide, we've two main choices to: 1) believe the finance-media-religion-education-military-industrial-legislative-complex, demonize the other, armour ourselves against our perceived enemies, launch pre-emptive war & create hell, 2) engage the other in formal equal-time recorded & published dialogues. Mohandas Gandhi developed 'Satyagraha' (Hindi 'truth-search') based upon simultaneous inquiry with both parties in dispute or re-search asking, "What are your best intentions & how can we help you fulfill these?". Gandhi, "I can imagine a fully armed man to be at heart a coward. Possession of arms implies an element of fear, if not cowardice. But true non-violence is an impossibility without the possession of unadulterated fearlessness."

We need transparency in all levels of human solutions at home, school, media, business for all stakeholders. As Socrates proposed, dialectics (both-sided inquiry) should be the foundation of social & economic literacy both for collaborative-research & as necessity may arise for conflict-resolution.

The west plays 'Right-to-Protect' game for 100s of colonial years keeping citizens in the dark staging many 100s of False Flag events, colonial invasion & genocide. NO-WAR until we hear Both-Sides present in Equal-Time, Recorded & Published Debate. Most issues & events in our colonial oligarch manipulated & consumptive world aren’t as they appear. https://sites.google.com/site/indigenecommunity/structure/both-sides-now-equal-time-recorded-dialogues
