It's clear that the Democrat party machine (DNC) along with our top political, military, and intelligence officials are engaged in a disinformation campaign aimed at American citizens in service of fabricating “enemies” to justify the bloated US military budget and fund its genocidal colonial wars. Watching Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Elizabeth Warren, smear Bernie Sanders & Tulsi Gabbard during the 2020 Presidential campaign was like watching "The Manchurian Candidate". How, after the lies that led to the deaths of millions in Iraq and the Mid-East, can ANYONE believe anything we’re told by the national security state? It’s incredible that the Democrat party establishment led by Hillary Clinton and Obama used wild, absurd McCarthy era smears against members of congress of the stature of Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard to derail their 2020 presidential campaigns. Their utter lack of concern let alone guilt for the millions of innocent human beings murdered or displaced as refugees as a result of US "interventionist wars" and “wars on drugs” in the middle east and Latin America proven to be based on lies is astounding. The bipartisan racist, sociopathic zeitgeist that describes US foreign policy is unconscionable. We can’t have a healthy population for lack of a national healthcare system, we can’t have an educated citizenry because for-profit colleges and universities are too expensive for working class citizens. What we have instead is the ability to “kill anyone anywhere, at any time”. This is our singular priority, and this describes the bipartisan sociopathic “values” of our elected officials, our "legacy media", and their corporate owners.

Gore Vidal said (I'm paraphrasing) of presidents that by the time a man is put up as presidential material, he's already been bought ten times over. Great movie about a man who understood the serious incompatibility between Republic and Empire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zli2VHO4p1I

Presidents are evil because the mentality of being a manipulative politician is rewarded in our broke ass culture, while integrity is not. This is part of the great transition already in progress, though not yet visible in our shitty political system...

So glad to see you're back. By the way, you didn't miss anything: the US still lies constantly; Zionism is still a miserable idea; and Saudi Arabia doesn't appear to be on hardly anyone's radar. Good times all around.

"Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority." - Lord Acton wrote in 1887

Others have suggested that those who rise to power are already morally corrupt ~ or/and amoral ~ before they begin their climb to the pinnacles of might, i. e. sociopaths, a formal concept not yet codified in Lord Acton's time.

I don't know which is worse. Dystopia or the painfully depressing description of it.

I have been fighting the Bushes for 40 years now. In 1980 regretfully I voted for Barry Commoner. Our election process is completely manufactured consent and manipulated.

Spending most my career in DC, I eventually unlearned what I was taught in high school Civics class, and after about 7 years, learned how government really gets done. On several occasions over the years when chatting about presidents, I would remind my companions that to run for POTUS, you have to be one ruthless sonovabitch - even kindly old Abe Lincoln or Jimmy Carter. To lead as president, you have to be even more ruthless - or nothing changes on your watch.
